Join the India Basin Waterfront Park project partners, Illuminate and the Ruth Williams Opera House for the free Sounds of the Street concert series at the India Basin Shoreline Park Community Innovation Lab (Hunters Point Boulevard and Hawes Street). It kicks off on Saturday, September 14 with Martin Luther and Friends and Veotis. It will be followed on September 15 with a show featuring Dr. David Hardiman’s All-Star Big Band. Both shows are from from 1 to 4 p.m.

This series is a partnership made possible through the India Basin Waterfront Park Equitable Development Plan (EDP). Outlined in the plan are the strategies to use the physical spaces and park programming to build community cohesion and social capital, ensure park programming is responsive to community desires, and to preserve and celebrate black culture and the neighborhood’s cultural diversity.
